Why I think Autumn is not appreciated enough

In the past I wasn't the biggest fan of Autumn, but in the last years my opinion about it changed completely (ok, I might be a bit biased, because I really like when it rains, but honestly there are many other reasons you might fall for Autumn, just like I did).

I know almost everyone loves summer, right? It's sunny, bright, blissful, reminds us to holidays, we are motivated to go out and have more movement, which is naturally producing endorphins. But don't you ever get tired of the heat? The town I live in, most of the days in July and August were covered in aggressive sun rays, creating over 30 degrees Celsius temperature. Not a week or two. Most of the days within two months. It's alright if you don't have to work and are able to spend the whole summer next to a swimming pool or a lake, while wearing almost nothing. But it's no fun when you have to share the public transportation system, like buses or trams. Not all of them have air conditioning. A propos air conditioning, isn't it one of the worst things for the ecology? Nevertheless, I was more than happy when September arrived together with cooler weather. The air became more humid, mornings became misty with their specific for Autumn atmosphere, people stopped sweating so much and all in all I felt that I can catch a breath again.

Depending on where you live, Autumn might be just awful, all grey and cold. But it can also be exploding in bright, beautiful colors in each corner. The endless color palette of yellow, orange and red are dancing on the trees with their iridescence all around.

And what's wrong with the evenings getting dark early? It's part of the unique ambience (besides that, the longer the evening, the more time to stay indoors with your favorite book and a hot cup of tea). Not to mention all of the seasonal deliciousness, which keeps us warm, such as pumpkin soup or edible chestnuts. And if we don't have any of those in reach, we can hide in an oversized sweater or hoodie and jump into thick and cosy socks.

Are you enjoying the most resented time of the year as much as I do?
