Why it's worth to write journals

My relation with journals started already when I was about 9 years old. That was the first time I took a notebook to holidays with my parents. I wrote about every day, sticked in postcards, tickets, wine labels - basically everything made out of paper which landed in my hands. Since that time I was writing journals every now and then, but I started properly once again when I was already an adult.

For about 7 years now every time I travel, I take my notebook with me. I write in it almost every day, draw, stick stickers, labels and photos in. Those are my memories, which I can go back to in the future, after all it's impossible to remember everything. While writing I am reflecting on the new impressions. It's 10 to 30 minutes a day just for myself and my thoughts, which I appreciate having, even when I'm on holidays with my closest family members or friends. Besides that, writing helps me calm down and distance myself from everything around and also from myself. After years, while reading old journals I can see how I changed, grew and developed. Thanks to photo selection I can just enjoy the quality images in the printed form instead of scrolling through hundreds of photos on a lap top.

Writing journals is a lot of fun and can give a lot of pleasure - while writing and afterwards while reading it, but I know it's not for everyone. How do you like to save your most interesting memories?
